The island of Brac is popular for cycling, walking and hiking and the crystal clear sea offers ideal conditions for fishing, diving and sailing. In the vicinity of the apartment Rusula there are numerous roads through olive groves and pine forest suitable for walking or cycling. The southern side of the island of Brac offers excellent conditions for diving. Fantastic diving attraction is the cave Lučica, about 1.2 km away from the apartment Rusula. Blaca hermitage, once a famous Glagolitic hermitage and later an observatory, is located about 8 km from the apartment Rusula. It is situated on the eastern slope of the valley on the south side of the island, between Bol and Milna. This monastery hermitage was formed in 16th century when the Glagolitic monks, fleeing from the Ottoman conquest, built their home in a secluded cave. The monastery can be reached in two ways: one is by boat from the direction of the bay Blaca, located on the south side of the island. The bay is surrounded by a dense pine forest and deep in the cove there is a lovely beach with a small chapel. A small forest trail length about 2 km leads from the cove to the monastery. The second way is by car from the north side. The macadam road branches off from the paved road towards Vidova Gora, and is directed by the signpost in the vicinity of Nerežišća. If you like mountain biking and hiking, the ideal choice is a trip to the top of Vidova Gora (778 m). Vidova Gora is the highest peak on the island of Brač and also the highest peak of the Adriatic islands, offering a breathtaking view of Bol, the popular beach "Zlatni rat", islands of Šolta, Hvar and Vis, and mountains Mosor and Biokovo. In case of good weather, it is possible to see and the outlines of the Italian mainland. A 12 m high monumental cross made of white Brac stone is placed at the top, and next to it there is a tavern called "Vladimir Nazor". The top is accessible by car.
